Things to Keep in Mind When Staying in PG


An increasing number of students these days are preferring to stay in PGs and hostels. Even if they are studying in a college in the same city as their home, still an on-campus or nearby PG is preferred since it cuts the traveling time and lets the student focus solely on studies. But to find a decent boys PG in Bhopal is also a great task in itself. There are various factors that come into play while selecting a hostel or a PG as an accommodation, such as the proximity from the college, security perimeter, other students living in the PG, amenities offered, etc.

Staying in a PG or a hostel and being away from home can be a little difficult, but if you choose the right PG with substantial searching around, you can always find a comfortable ‘home’ away from home. A few points to be kept in mind while selecting a hostel or PG are:

  • Location- Make sure while selecting the PG or best hostel in North Campus that it is in close proximity to your educational institute so as to save time and money on commuting to and fro. Easy access to public transport such as the metro or bus should also be available. Also see to it that the area is a residential one and not surrounded by commercial buildings, from a security point of view.
  • Amenities - Apart from location, a good PG or hostel should also provide basic facilities such as AC, a kitchenette, parking area if required, housekeeping, etc. These days, one does not need to go look at every single PG. Instead, one can look at the pictures posted by owners online and also find a basic description along with all the amenities provided.
  • Rental Agreement - Once you have selected your boys PG in Bhopal, make sure to sign a valid rent agreement before making any payments. With a legal and binding rent agreement, you can be at peace and the landlord cannot ask you to vacate out of the blue.
  • Apart from these, there are some unwritten golden rules that one is expected to follow while staying in a PG:
  • Respect others and give them their personal space. Do not take or ‘borrow’ things from fellow hostellers or roommates without asking them first;
  • Since it is a shared space, keep things neat and tidy;
  • Use padlocks to keep your things and important documents safe and secure;
  • Be friendly to your roommates and share things;
  • Keep things organized and place the common use items back in their places after using them.

Such small details and etiquettes go a long way to provide a comfortable and stress-free stay at a PG or hostel.
